The Swindon Sub-Aqua Club are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a Sport England National Lottery grant of £15,000 towards a green energy solution for our clubhouse here in Swindon.
After lots of hard work and fundraising by the club, this award has matched money we’ve raised, to allow us to fit out our building with a green energy solution to reduce our utility bills, which will guarantee the long term stability of the club which has been in Swindon since 1957.
What this means for North Wiltshire residents, is that we will now be able to move forward with our plans to get more people moving and in our pool to try out Scuba diving for the very first time!
Without the worry of additional high costs to heat the pool, our volunteer instructors will be on hand to teach Scuba diving to anyone who would like to try it at a minimal cost.
We will also be working with specific youth and adult groups in Swindon to offer free Try Dive days!
